Girls: A leotard is preferred, but a non-baggy T-shirt and shorts are also suitable. No jeans, jewelry or socks. Long hair must be pulled back.

Holidays & Inclement Weather

Practice will not be held on most major US holidays. Check the Calendar for details.

In the event of inclement weather, CVGA follows the cancellation and early dismissals of Waterloo Community Schools. However morning delays will not affect evening scheduled practice. If in doubt, call or check our News page for cancellation announcements.

Makeup Classes

Athletes are allowed to make up a missed class once every 3 months. Makeup scheduling must be coordinated with the Director of Gymnastics.

General Rules

Parents/family are allowed to stay and watch their child. But the following rules must be followed:

  • No coaching from the viewing area - our gym is often very busy and yelling commands or even encouragement from the viewing area could distract your child or other gymnasts and cause an accident.
  • Only coaching staff and athletes are permitted on the gym floor. Parents and family MUST remain in the viewing areas.
  • No chewing gum, food or beverages are allowed on the gym floor. Food and beverages must be consumed in the viewing or concession areas.
  • Respect your coach.
  • Respect your fellow athletes.
  • Respect yourself.
  • Horseplay is not tolerated. Gymnastics is a dangerous sport - horseplay can lead to accidents causing injury to you or other athletes. Even moderate horseplay will lead to dismissal from the program.
